Golden Record Updates: Derived Columns
April was another busy month for the Golden Record team. There’s a lot happening, both above and below the surface on our data-matching app. Here are a few of the highlights:
New and improved data-matching functionality
Some top-priority features are finally here:
- We’ve been talking about derived columns for a couple months now, and we are thrilled to announce that it’s now fully implemented in Golden Record! Our beta testers will get more accurate results with matching algorithms like Soundex, first name synonym, and string manipulation.
- We improved Golden Record’s user interface to better handle these new features: users can now add derived columns on the same screen where they define their data in Golden Record. (See image below.)
- We also added a lot of security and privacy improvements, including stronger passwords and access controls as well as more vigorous data encryption.
New industry-specific info on our website
In April, we continued to add content to our website to better answer questions about Golden Record and what it can do. We launched three new webpages on how different industries can put Golden Record to use. Check them out:
- For marketing: integrate your CRM data with other systems.
- For data warehousing: speed up the process of database integration.
- For nonprofits: take the first step toward data analytics.
We also launched a new page that better explains how to match data with Golden Record, and created an informative one-pager for download.
