Updates to Golden Record: New Features on the Way
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make Golden Record the best record linking and data matching system! Here are some highlights from our work in February:
We put our data-matching spokesdog to work
Our friendly spokesdog, GR, joined the crew in late January, and last month we gave him the task of explaining how to use our data matching software.
We think he did a pretty good job, but don’t be afraid to contact us to discuss your unique situation and your data matching questions.
We’re getting ready to launch some cool new features
Ben and the team have been heads down in the code building out some exciting functionality for Golden Record: derived columns.
Launching soon, derived columns will improve Golden Record’s capabilities and link accuracy enormously. It’s a very flexible technology that will enable us to very rapidly add a ton of other great features, such as:
- SoundX functionality will allow for phonetic record matching, so you can link data based on how it sounds, rather than how it was typed in. It will allow GR to overcome many data entry errors, treating Ben and Bben as equivalent, for example.
- First name synonym matching will link full names to their potential nicknames. (eg: Elizabeth to Liz, Lizzie, and/or Beth)
- String manipulation will help you find more record matches by making sense of typos, misspellings, and abbreviations in data entry. (eg: W.T.F., W T F, and WTF)
Stay tuned for more info on derived columns and other the new features we’re adding to Golden Record. And keep your eye on GR…you never know what he’ll be up to next!
